The Parallel Realm fantasy book series takes us into a dangerous and magical world, hidden in plain sight in historic Edinburgh. Shadowy monsters and lethal ælves hunt the narrow closes of the city, combatted by daemons and angels who protect the unwitting, when theyre not drinking Earl Grey tea or arguing amongst themselves.

Out now!

'Wyrm-galdr', The second book in the Parallel Realm series was published on 24 November!

Wyrm-galdr - a brooding daemon and stong-willed female characters

My name’s Drew Macleod and I can use galdr.  You’d call it magic. I’m slowly developing my skills with the “help” of Archer. He’s a grumpy git, but he’s the last remaining daemon, so who else is going to protect Edinburgh from all the bad stuff out there? The angelii? Don’t make me laugh. If people  had any idea what was going on out of  sight they’d wet themselves and the angelii are as powerful as half-drowned kittens. So it’s down to Archer and I to fend off maras, sceadhus, shades, ælves and all the other nasties out there. There’s Garm of course, but as he manifests as a small, scruffy dog his help is limited to sarcastic advice. Thank heavens for Alyssum and Traggheim, herbalist and dweorg artisan respectively. And Jamie, the best mate I accidentally dragged into all this with me.

A bloodcap, an angelus and a Jack Russell terrier. They’re all I had by me to face mortal combat with the Queen of the Ælves.

I’d be dead in minutes…’

The historic streets of Edinburgh hide a parallel realm of shadowy killers, vicious ælves and deranged shades. All that stands between them and the unsuspecting populace are a daemon called Archer and the group of angelii he’s feuding with.

Drew Macleod is caught in the middle. Someone, somewhere is hunting him. But why? Delving deeper into this parallel realm, Drew finds allies in a feisty herbalist, an ancient creature in disguise and an old clock-maker - but are any of them really who they seem to be?
